Orion Amphitheater
In response to Huntsville’s burgeoning music scene, City officials tabbed Matheny Goldmon Architecture + Interiors to helm a Design Team in bringing forth a vision of a significant amphitheater concert and entertainment venue.

Matheny Goldmon (Architect of Record) teamed with David M. Schwarz Architects (Design Architect) to provide a design for an epic, classical venue reminiscent of the great theaters and colosseums of antiquity. The project is located within a new city park adjacent to Mid-City, a new multi-use development in west Huntsville. This 8,100-capacity amphitheater was designed to become a popular destination for patrons and artists alike, drawing diverse visitors to the area and a top tier of musical artists who prefer to perform in the most noteworthy concert venues around the world.
